Meghalaya Added 49 New COVID-19 Cases ,236 In Tripura

Meghalaya added 49 new COVID-19 cases, 17 BSF jawans also infected. 236 new cases of coronavirus in Tripura, three infected died.

More than forty people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Meghalaya, including 17 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, a Health Department official said on Wednesday. He said that the Director of Health Services Aman War said seven COVID-19 cases have been reported in East Khasi Hills district and two in North Garo Hills district. He further stated that 17 BSF personnel are among the new patients.

The official said that nine more people have been cured of the disease and have been discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of people to recover to 694. The official said that six patients have died in the state so far. With this, the total number of active cases in the state has increased to 806 with the arrival of new cases.

The official said that the number of active COVID-19 cases in East Khasi Hills district is 492, the highest, followed by 189 cases in West Garo Hills and 95 in Ri-Bhoi. The East Garo Hills district is currently Coronavirus free. A total of 43,870 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the state so far.

Amidst the ever-increasing coronavirus cases in the country, a Health Department official said that 236 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in Tripura. With this, the number of corona virus-infected in the state has increased to 7,663.

So far, 65 people have died in the state, with a growing case of the virus, as well as three more deaths in the state due to the epidemic. He said that three patients of all COVID-19 in West Tripura district died due to cardiac arrest at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) on Tuesday.

The official said that freshly infected cases brought the number of active cases to 2,083 in the state, while 5,497 people have so far recovered from the disease and 18 patients have moved to other states. Tripura has so far tested 2,28,983 samples for COVID-19.

Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, Director, National Health Mission, Tripura, said that the state government has distributed 185 oxygen concentrations in COVID care centers to provide better care to critical patients. Another official said that the health department would distribute 824 oximeters to COVID-19 patients, who are in isolation in the home.
