Ministry Of Home Affairs Honored 152 Police Officers

Ministry of Home Affairs honored 152 police officers. 152 police personnel across the country got medals for excellence in an investigation.

Ministry of Home Affairs released the list of 152 police personnel who have been awarded the Union Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation for the year 2021.

The medal was instituted in the year 2018 with an objective to promote high professional standards of crime investigation and to recognize such excellence in an investigation by investigating officers.

The Union Home Ministry said that the person who received these awards include 15 from CBI, 11 each from Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra Police.

10 from Uttar Pradesh Police, 9-9 from Kerala and Rajasthan Police, 8 from Tamil Nadu Police, Bihar. 7, includes six personnel each from Gujarat, Karnataka, and Delhi Police.

These include 28 women police officers.

In the year 2020, 121 police personnel were honored. In this, 15 personnel are from CBI, 10-10 from Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra Police.

8 from Uttar Pradesh Police, and 7-7 from Kerala and West Bengal Police, and the remaining personnel are from other states/UTs. Among them, 21 women police officers were also honored with medals.

SC bans 2-week furlough of Asaram’s son Narayan Sai, serving a life sentence in a rape case

Narayan Sai, son of Asaram Bapu, who is serving a life sentence in a rape case, did not get relief from the Supreme Court today.

The Supreme Court has stayed the two-week furlough of Narayan Sai. In fact, the Gujarat High Court had granted a two-week furlough to Narayan Sai.

A petition was filed in the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the Gujarat High Court.

The Supreme Court has stayed the two-week furlough of Asaram’s son Narayan Sai, setting aside the Gujarat High Court’s decision.

Narayan Sai is convicted in a 2014 rape case and is currently serving a life sentence.

SG Tushar Mehta appeared for the Gujarat government challenging the June order of the High Court. Earlier, Narayan Sai had sought bail for 14 days, after which the High Court allowed Sai’s plea.
