Mob Beat Up Police And Burnt Vehicles Using Guerrilla Technique

Mob beat up Police and burnt vehicles using the guerrilla technique in Bengaluru violence. The violence that took place in Bengaluru may have been witnessed by policemen after a long time, while it would have been an experience for new recruits.

The violence started on Tuesday night due to an online post continued till early Wednesday. A large number of people including about 50 policemen have been injured in this incident.

The mob beat up Police and burnt vehicles using the guerrilla technique in the violence that broke out after an alleged controversial Facebook post made by a relative of Congress MLA Akhand Shrinivas Murthy.

The phase of Bengaluru Violence that many old policemen saw in Bengaluru may have been seen after a long time, whereas for the new recruits it must have been an experience. There was never any apprehension of what happened on the streets of Bengaluru on the night of the violence.

A violent mob in the narrow streets of Bengaluru used guerrilla technics. Hardly anyone has seen this form of violence spread in Kavalabirasandra, KG Halli, and Djehalli areas. This development started in front of Pulakeshinagar MLA Akhand Srinivasamurthy’s house at 7 pm and lasted till around 2 pm.

Things deteriorated after 10 pm as the KG Halli and DJ Halli police station locked the crowd and set the police vehicles on fire. Reinforcement arrived from different parts of the city to help colleagues at two stations faced a lot of problems. The force coming for help also had to face bottles and stones.

Lights smashed by throwing stones

Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said, ‘Along with 75 police officers, I had to walk through the small streets of KG Halli. While we were walking, stones were thrown on the streetlights and the whole area was covered in darkness.

The next moment utensils, stones, bottles, tires, pieces of wood, and bricks started raining on us. Our personnel shield was broken and my people were injured. Then we ordered firing in the air.

According to a report in the English newspaper, a worker said, “Two vehicles had already reached the spot and were extinguishing the fire in the vehicles. Half a kilometer before the station, a crowd blocked our way. They broke the glass of our vehicle.

We were taken out and some of them started beating us up. Luckily, in the meantime, a police team saw us and they came running towards us, but the crowd surrounded them too.

Another senior police officer said that the narrow streets of KG Halli gave the crowd full opportunity to attack the police. The crowd was everywhere. We used to remove one and they used to come the other way. Although none of them were local.
