Mopa International Airport: With the aim of promoting connectivity in the country, PM Modi will inaugurate the Mopa International Airport in Goa today i.e. on 11 December.

The first airport is located in Dabolim. Built at a cost of Rs 2,870 crore, the airport will also cater to cargo services. Operations via Mopa Airport will grow to 35 homes and 18 global destinations.

Mopa Airport is expected to serve approximately 4.4 million passengers each year. Later it can be expanded to 33 million passengers per year.

Crafted from sustainable infrastructure

Developed at a cost of approximately Rs 2,870 crore, the airport is built on the theme of sustainable infrastructure and includes state-of-the-art sewage treatment plants with solar power plants, green buildings, LED lights on the runway, rainwater harvesting, and recycling facilities.

Some of the best-in-class technologies like 3-D monolithic precast buildings, stable roads, robotic hollow precast walls, and 5G compatible IT infrastructure have been adopted for the airport.

Access to 35 homes and 18 global locations.

Goa`s Dabolim airport presently has connectivity to fifteen homes and six global locations. While 35 home and 18 global places may be reached via Mopa Airport.

Explain that Mopa Airport includes runways capable of handling the world’s largest aircraft.

Night parking facility at Mopa airport.

The night parking facility will be available at Mopa airport, which is not available at Dabolim, Goa’s first airport.

In addition, the Mopa airport will have a cargo facility with a handling capacity of 25,000 metric tonnes. Be informed that there is no cargo terminal at Dabolim Airport.
