Muhurat Trading Will Be Held For One Hour In Stock Markets On Diwali

Muhurat trading will be held for one hour in stock markets on Diwali, investors consider it auspicious: Muhurat Trading.

On the first day of the beginning of the Hindu Samvat year 2079, on Diwali, a one-hour special trading session ‘Muhurat Trading 2022’ will be held in the major stock exchanges Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday.

Even though there is a holiday in the stock markets on Diwali, on this day the market opens for one hour.

Both the stock exchanges told in separate circulars that this indicative trading session would be between 6:15 pm and 7:15 pm in the evening.

It is believed that doing transactions during ‘Muhurta’ is auspicious and brings financial prosperity.

Apart from stocks, during Muhurta trading, there will also be trading in sectors like commodity futures, currency futures, share futures, and options.

Diwali is considered auspicious to start new things.

Puneet Maheshwari, director at Upstox said that Diwali is considered to be the best time to start anything new. The sentiment in the market is positive and buying is taking place in various sectors.

It is believed that by buying during this session, the investor gets a profit throughout the year.

He said that this session is only for one hour, so new traders should be careful during this period as the market keeps on fluctuating.

Manish Jelloka, Co-Head of Products and Solutions, Sanctum Wealth said that the Indian stock markets performed far better than the global markets during Samvat 2078 which is expected to continue in Samvat 2079 as well.

Shares of companies related to banks, capital goods, and manufacturing are expected to perform well

Nilesh Shah, Group President, and Managing Director, Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company said that Samvat 2079 is likely to be like Diwali.

Shares of companies related to banks, capital goods, and manufacturing are expected to perform well. Also, interesting opportunities can be found in Tech and Pharma sectors.

The stock market will be closed on 26 October.

The stock markets will remain closed on October 26 on the occasion of Balipratipada.
