Mukul Rohatgi Will Be The Next Attorney General Of India

Mukul Rohatgi will be the next Attorney General of India, replacing KK Venugopal.

Mukul Rohatgi has been appointed as the Attorney General of India. He will start his second term on October 1. Rohatgi will replace KK Venugopal whose term ends on 30 September.

Rohatgi was earlier appointed as Attorney General in June 2014 as well and served till June 2017. This appointment is being made for the second time.

Let us tell you that the service of the current Attorney General KK Venugopal was ending on June 30, but his service was extended.

Let us tell you that Venugopal had recently indicated to the Supreme Court that he would not be in office after September 30.

Venugopal’s tenure was extended by three months at the end of June this year. After getting the extension, his term as Attorney General is going to end on 30 September 2022.

He will take responsibility for the second time.

A few months back, the Law Ministry had informed the government that KK Venugopal’s term was ending on June 30 and there was a need for an appointment for the post.

Venugopal first took over as the Attorney General, the top legal officer of the central government on 1 July 2017, replacing Mukul Rohatgi.

After the end of the service, he was given an extension of 3 months.

It is being told that Venugopal refused to take any further extension, so the government had to decide to appoint a new Attorney General.

During the hearing in the Supreme Court on Friday, Chief Justice NV Raman said that we had ordered the release of the prisoner, but have not released him yet.

He said that the certified copy of the Jail Officer Order has not been received yet, it has become too much.

Attorney General KK Venugopal said that this is completely wrong, but there are many instances where fake and fabricated orders have been given so the police needed a certified order.
