Naftali Bennett’s Government Breaks The Coalition In Israel

Naftali Bennett’s government breaks the coalition in Israel, elections will be held for the 5th time in 3 years.

A major political crisis has arisen in Israel. The coalition government led by Naftali Bennett has collapsed.

General elections are going to be held in the country for the fifth time in less than four years. Elections can be held at the end of October.

Under a deal with Israeli PM Naftali Bennett, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid will take over the country’s power in the coming few days.

On Monday, Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid agreed to dissolve parliament.

For several weeks there was speculation that Israel’s ruling coalition might break. In a joint statement, Bennett and Lapid reported the break-up of the alliance between their parties.

It said the two would come out with a bill to dissolve Parliament and elections are expected to be held in October.

The Bennett government had just one seat more than the opposition

The Bennett government was already in a minority and had only one seat more than the opposition. 60 MPs voted in favor of the Bennett government and 59 against.

Now Yair Lapid has also decided to come out of the Alliance. In Israel, four governments remained in minority for two years, and for this reason, elections were also held.

Naftali Bennett’s government breaks the coalition: Why are allies angry?

According to the report, the United Arab List, a coalition of eight parties, is angry with the Bennett government over the issue of Palestine.

It also had conflicts with the government in the past over Palestinian settlements.

This party says that the Bennett government is giving place to Jews in Palestine settlements and it is unfair to people of Arab origin.

Will Netanyahu return?

The Times of Israel report has claimed that former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu can once again form the government. For this, they will have to arrange only two seats.

The former prime minister and current opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to return to power.
