Nagaland Has Been Declared Disturbed Area For Six Months

Nagaland has been declared a disturbed area for six months under AFSPA, Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification.

The entire state of Nagaland has been declared a disturbed area for another six months.

The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) has been extended and this law empowers security forces to conduct operations anywhere and arrest anyone without a warrant.

Under this law, this entire northeastern state will be considered a disturbed area till the end of December.

In the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the whole state of Nagaland is included in the disturbed area.

The Union Home Ministry, in a notification issued on Wednesday, said that the government is of the opinion that the region, which includes the entire state of Nagaland, is in such disturbed and dangerous condition that the use of armed forces in aid of civilian forces is necessary.
