Nagaland police raid statewide and seize more than Rs 18 billion worth of drugs.

Nagaland Police has conducted raids and searches across the state to ensure free and fair conduct of the Nagaland Assembly Elections.

The state police seized a total amount of over Rs 18 crore including arms and ammunition in this one week. Police have given this information.

It may be known that the Election Commission announced the election schedule in the state on January 18. According to the commission, elections will be held in Nagaland on February 27 this year.

An overall quantity of over Rs 18 crore inclusive of hands and ammunition seized.

Official information states that this week the police department seized a total amount of Rs 18,49,73,650.

According to the police, the items seized by the department include narcotics worth Rs 3,43,53,025, prohibited goods worth Rs 14,84,14,000, arms and ammunition worth Rs 50,900, foreign-made in India worth Rs 21,25,725 Liquor and other items worth Rs 30,000 have been recovered.

The police department has sought people’s support for the implementation of the model code of conduct in the state during this period.

Nagaland will vote on February 27.

It may be noted that on January 18, the Election Commission announced the election schedule for the assembly elections in the northeastern states of Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland.

The results of the three states will be announced on March 2, 2023.

Announcing the election schedule in the three states, Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar had said Tripura would go to polls in a single phase on February 16.

While Nagaland and Meghalaya will go to the polls on February 27. The consequences of the 3 states might be introduced on March 2, 2023.
