Narada Sting Operation Case: CBI Seeking Transfer Of Case

Narada Sting Operation Case: The defense lawyer said CBI failed to establish the reason for seeking transfer of Narada case.

A five-judge bench of the Calcutta High Court heard the petition filed before the special CBI court seeking transfer of the Narada sting operation case to the High Court.

In fact, the CBI has failed to establish the reason for seeking transfer of Narada case, said defense counsel Siddharth Luthra before a five-judge bench.

He said that there was no need to transfer the Narada case from a special CBI court to the High Court.

The High Court had recently granted interim bail to four leaders, Firhad Hakim, Subrata Mukherjee, Madan Mitra, and Sovan Chatterjee, who were arrested by the CBI in connection with the case on May 17.

Senior advocate Siddharth Luthra questioned that how many such cases of CBI are going on trial in the special court.

He said that the CBI has filed a transfer petition in the court citing the mob. He said that there have been many occasions when leaders of political parties have gathered in the courts.

He said that in the Kanhaiya Kumar case, the Patiala House Court was full. In the case of Ram Rahim, the court was more crowded, so was the functioning of the court affected.

Did this affect the decision of the court or did the judicial process get tainted? If there was any talk with the special court judge of CBI in this regard, then why are you shying away from presenting him in the court.

This will reveal everything. Why are you not able to produce CCTV footage? Did the CBI advocate during the virtual hearing say anything about the inconvenience caused to the crowd.

During this, the bench questioned whether pressure was created for virtual hearing through the CM. Advocate Luthra said that the question of pressure does not arise.
