Navy Deployed Women Officers On INS Vikramaditya And Shakti

Navy deployed women officers on INS Vikramaditya and Shakti, Navy spokesperson briefed.

On Monday, March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, a spokesperson of the Indian Navy gave information about the deployment of women officers on the warship.

He said, ‘Recently four women officers of the Navy have been deployed on the warship. Of these, two women officers have been deployed on the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya, while two have been sent on the Navy tanker ship INS Shakti.

According to a senior Navy official, necessary changes were made in the warship before the deployment of women officers.

It is noteworthy that in the year 1997 also the Navy had deployed women officers in the warship, but this was possible only for two years.

After this, for the first time, women officers have been deployed in the warship for the first time. Shortly before, two women officers in the Navy have qualified as Observers.

These women officers will also operate through the warship. They will be deployed as crew on Navy warships. These women officers will be observers in the helicopter.

The observer is a combat role. Observers fulfill technical requirements, including navigation, to carry out any mission.

One of the women officers posted on the INS Shakti is a doctor. He says that the Navy has got a chance to serve as a doctor by posting on the warship.

He said, ‘We work shoulder to shoulder with our male colleagues. The Indian Navy started the construction of separate cabins and toilets a few years ago to make it ready for women officers.

Jaishankar and US envoy talks for Afghanistan.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Special US Envoy for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad held telephonic talks on Sunday. He discussed the latest developments related to Afghanistan peace talks.

In November last year, Jaishankar and Khalilzad held talks on the historic peace agreement and related issues between the Taliban and the Afghan government. At that time special American envoys visited India.

Jaishankar tweeted on Sunday, a telephone conversation with Special US Representative Zalmay Khalilzad. The latest developments related to the peace process were discussed. We will keep in touch.

Since the US signed a peace deal with the Taliban in February last year, India has been closely monitoring the emerging political situation in Afghanistan.

The deal paved the way for the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, and it marked the end of America’s 18-year war with the Taliban in Afghanistan.
