A 50-year-old man was allegedly attacked and killed by Naxals in a village in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district.

According to preliminary information, some armed militants disguised as civilians surrounded Kudiyam, a native of the Usoor area, and killed him, an official said.

A major incident was carried out by Naxalites in a village in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.

Giving details of the Naxalite incident, an official said that the incident took place in Nukanpal village under the Modakpal police station area.

The victim Mura Kudiyam had gone to attend a family function on Thursday.

The natives of the Usoor region, disguised as civilians, surrounded Kudiyam and attacked him several times with sharp weapons and sticks in front of the villagers.

Due to which Kudiyam died on the spot. The Naxalites did not stop here, but after killing Kudiyam, the Naxalites threw the body of Kudiyam on the road before fleeing from the spot.

The official said that the exact reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained. However, a police team reached the spot and the body was sent to the local hospital for post-mortem.

This is the second such attack in the district this week as a 32-year-old villager was killed by Maoists in the Kutru area of ​​the district on July 11, the official said.

In October last year, the banned CPI (Maoist) had claimed the responsibility of killing 25 people, including some of its workers, in separate incidents for allegedly acting as police informers in militancy-hit Bijapur district.

The victim told the police that she was going to Mangala with her younger sister on Thursday afternoon. On the way, both the sisters met their uncle.
