Neo JMB terrorist organization’s roots spread to Assam, its wires are connected with ISIS.

Operation is going on against Islamic terrorist groups in Bangladesh. Because of this, many terrorists have crossed the border and taken refuge in many areas of India.

The name of Assam is also included in these areas. Information received from security agencies and Assam Police indicates that these terrorists are linked to Neo Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh.

According to the information, these terrorists are on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra river in the state and in North Bengal.

Security agencies are vigilant about the militant activities of several groups, including Neo JMB in Assam. Agencies have become more alert during the lockdown.

What is Neo JMB

Neo JMB is a section of Bangladesh’s old JMB, but its strings are linked to global terrorist organizations like Islamic State. The group came into the limelight after the Holi Artisan Restaurant blast in July 2016 in Dhaka.

20 people were killed in this attack. This new faction of JMB consists of educated people in English of many affluent families.

At the same time, this group has also appointed many women to larger posts. Many of these women were arrested during the fight against terrorism in Bangladesh.

In India, the group came into the limelight during the Dalai Lama’s visit to Bodh Gaya in 2018. Two of its members were arrested in West Bengal.

These accused accepted the involvement in the case. Agencies say that these terrorists are using fake IDs of the members of Tablighi Jamaat. Significantly, Neo JMB is using the old network of JMB in Assam and North Bengal.

There are also indications in the reports that the group is trying to create a section of women in Assam on the lines of Bangladesh.
