NHAI contractor creates world record, constructs the longest road in 24 hours. A contractor of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has created a world record for the longest road construction in four hours on a four-lane highway.

Patel Infrastructure Limited has been included in the India Book of Records and the Golden Book of Records for this achievement.

According to a statement released on Wednesday by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the contractor has constructed a 2,580-meter long Pavement Quality Concrete (QPC) road on a four-lane highway in 24 hours.

Road construction started at 8 am on February 1, 2021, and the target was met at 8 am the next day. It took 24 hours to lay a concrete road on an expressway covering an area of ​​about 48,711 square meters with a width of 18.75 meters.

During this time, the record of laying the highest 14,613 cubic meters of concrete in 24 hours was also made.

The record is part of the Greenfield Delhi-Vadodara-Mumbai eight-lane expressway project. This record is made from the world’s fully automatic ultra-modern concrete laying machine.

Explain that the Ministry has constructed 8,169 km of National Highways (NHS) in the current financial year from April 2020 to January 15, 2021, with a background of about 28.16 km per day.

During the same period in the last financial year, 7,573 km of roads were built, with a speed of 26.11 km per day. The ministry said that it is expected that with such speed it will be able to surpass the construction target of 11,000 km by 31 March.
