NIA court issues non-bailable warrant against Hafiz Saeed in a terrorist funding case. In the case of money laundering related to terror funding in Jammu and Kashmir.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) court of Delhi issues non-bailable warrants against the head of Lashkar-e-Taiba and mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack Hafiz Saeed and others.
The court passed the order after taking cognizance of the charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) under various provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
After hearing the case, Special Judge Praveen Singh issued production warrants against Kashmiri businessman Zahoor Ahmed Shah Watali, separatist Altaf Ahmad Shah alias Funtush and UAE-based businessman Naval Kishore Kapoor.
Watali, Shah, and Kapoor are currently lodged in Tihar Central Jail. The court also issued summons to Vitali’s company Trison Farms and Constructions Pvt. The company will be represented by an authorized representative.
Special Public Prosecutor Nitesh Rana, appearing for the ED, told the court that the accused made a criminal conspiracy to carry out subversive and separatist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
The accused allegedly set up a network of goons, financed by Pakistani agencies through the Hawala network and various other sources. Based on the investigation by the NIA, the ED had registered a separate case.
In January 2018, the NIA indicted several allies of separatist leaders associated with Kashmir along with leaders of Pakistan-based terrorist organizations Hafiz Saeed and Syed Salahuddin for alleged terror funding in the Kashmir Valley.

4G Internet service restored after 18 months in Jammu and Kashmir, restrictions lifted after Home Ministry’s green signal
4G internet service was completely restored in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday after a year and a half.
After getting the green signal from the Union Home Ministry, the State Home Department issued orders to remove the restrictions on high-speed internet. Late-night mobile companies also restored 4G service.
However, consumers will have to go through the prescribed verification process for the prepaid connection. Late evening there was a meeting with the officials of the security agencies of the Home Department.
At the same time, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
He said that this will fulfill the expectations of the people of the entire state, especially the youth. On the other hand, political leaders, social and business organizations have also welcomed.
