The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested the main mastermind behind the murder of BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother in Jammu and Kashmir’s district Kishtwar in 2018.

He has been identified as Malik Noor Mohammad Fayaz (51) resident of Fagsu Thathri district Doda.

According to information received from police sources, the NIA had arrested Malik Noor on Tuesday only.

He was produced in a special NIA court and was taken into custody for three days for interrogation related to the case.

You may be aware that senior BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar were shot dead by Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists outside their house in Kishtwar district on November 1, 2018.

The NIA took over the investigation of the case on November 28, 2018.

After investigating the case, the NIA filed charge sheets against seven accused including three slain HM terrorists Osama-bin-Javid, Haroon Abbas Wani, and Zahid Hussain on 15 May 2020 in the NIA court.

Four others arrested in the same case include Nisar Ahmed Sheikh, Nishad Ahmed Butt, Azad Hussain Bagwan, and Rustam Ali. All of them are also residents of Kishtwar.

The spokesman said that this major conspiracy was hatched in collaboration with Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists and its Overground Workers (OGW) to revive terrorism in Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban.

When the NIA started its investigation, the matter started coming to the fore layer after layer. It was during this time that Malik’s name surfaced.

Investigation revealed that Malik was involved in this conspiracy.

Not only this, but he had also gone to Assam and Nagaland along with the slain terrorist Osama-bin-Javid to purchase weapons to carry out this conspiracy.

It was Malik who inspired the innocent youth to join the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen.

The NIA spokesperson said that the Special Court Jammu has handed over the accused Malik to the NIA on a three-day remand. Further investigation is on in the matter.
