NIA raid on trader’s locations linked to cross LoC trade in Terror funding: NIA Raids in Kashmir.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted searches at the locations of a trader associated with cross LoC trade in Srinagar in connection with the terror funding in Kashmir.

The NIA team has also seized some documents from the trader’s bases. The NIA raid on the houses and other establishments of Feroz Ahmed Malla associated with the cross LoC trade with the help of a joint squad of CRPF and state police.

A search was conducted at Nurbagh, Bhagavan Pora’s hideout, for about five hours. NIA officials have seized various documents related to his business transactions, some bank passbooks, a pen drive, computer hard disk, and laptop.

However, no official details of the seized goods were released till late in the evening. NIA officials have also interrogated Feroze Ahmed Malla and his family regarding the cross LoC trade, but no one has been detained.

NIA has been investigating the matter related to the money coming from Pakistan and many other countries for terrorism and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir since 2017.

In this case, about 26 people, including one and a half dozen separatist leaders have been arrested by the NIA. These include the chief businessman of Kashmir, Zahoor Watali, and former MLA Engineer Rashid.

Among the arrested separatists are Shabbir Shah, Shahid ul Islam, Bitta Karate, and Altaf Shah alias Fantosh. The NIA also traced the misuse of duty-free cross LoC trade between Jammu and Kashmir and Ghulam Kashmir during its investigation.

The NIA found out in its investigation that many traders make money for terrorists and separatists under the guise of cross LoC trade.

Drugs and weapons are also being brought from slave Kashmir to Jammu Kashmir under the guise of this trade. Cross LoC trade is closed from March 2019.
