NIA Raids Continued For The Second Day In Kashmir

NIA raids continued for the second day, three people arrested. NIA raids continued in Kashmir for the second consecutive day: Jammu Kashmir.

NIA team raided two places in the Anantnag district of South Kashmir and arrested three accused. Earlier, the team had arrested five people for questioning during raids on Sunday.

According to sources, the NIA team arrested Aaqib Ahmed Sofi alias Nadeem, residents of Sofi Mohalla Achabal and Mohammad Arif Sofi son Ghulam Nabi Sofi, from their residences for questioning.

On Sunday, an Overground Worker (OGW) was nabbed with a pistol and two grenades from a truck at Purmandal Mor on the outskirts of the Jammu district.

The police are probing his terrorist connections. From where the recovered weapon was brought and where it was to be delivered, is being questioned.

It has been learned that these caches were dropped from Pakistani drones. It was being taken to Kashmir.

Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kohli said that all the nakas were on alert on Sunday following strong information about the smuggling of arms and ammunition from across the border.

Police stopped a truck at the Naka in Purmandal Mor adjacent to the Kaluchak Military Cantonment adjoining the Jammu district.

When the driver refused to search, the suspicion of the police was strengthened on him.

Police searched truck number JK 13E-0211 intensively and recovered one pistol, one magazine, eight live cartridges, and two grenades in it.

The truck driver has been identified as Mutanzar Manzoor’s son Manzoor Ahmed Bhat resident of South Kashmir Pulwama.

The driver is said to be an overground worker of the terrorists. He is being questioned about where did he get the weapon and the grenade.

Were those weapons thrown from Pakistan across the border through drones within Indian territory.

The police team led by SP South Deepak Dhighra and DSP PK Mangi caught the truck driver. SSP Jammu says that the police have registered a case and started an investigation.

Significantly, terrorists have increased their activities in Jammu for some time.

On June 28, police arrested a terrorist from Narwal in Jammu and also recovered an IED of five and a half kg. Four more of his accomplices were caught on his behest.
