NIA Raids In Doda And Jammu In Terror Funding Case

NIA raids in Doda and Jammu in terror funding case, many important documents recovered.

Ahead of Independence Day, NIA on Monday conducted raids at several places in the Jammu and Doda districts against members of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) in the terror funding case.

The raids being carried out in different parts of both the districts are going on at more than a dozen places.

It is being told that these hideouts belong to JEI office-bearers, members, or people associated with it. The NIA team is also investigating the house of retired DFO Hafiz Ulla, who lives in Bathindi.

Sources said that the NIA suspects that Hafiz is also involved in the terror funding case. At present, raids are going on everywhere.

It is also being said that many important documents have also been found from the seven places where NIA is investigating Doda.

According to the information received from the police, special teams of NIA reached many places in Jammu and Doda district together and started investigation in the homes and offices of the people named in the terror funding case.

Let us tell you that the NIA, which is probing the terror funding case, has conducted raids in many districts of Jammu and Kashmir even before this.

NIA says that these people are helping them by giving money to them to promote terrorist and separatist activities.

Official sources said that raids are being conducted in Dhara-Gundana, Munshi Mohalla, Akramband, Nagri Nai Basti, Kharoti Bhagwa, Thalela, Malothi Bhalla in Doda district, in Bathindi in Jammu.

During the investigation of the terror funding case, the NIA found that the members of the JeI were involved in raising funds for the aid of terrorists and separatists.

On February 5 last year, the NIA, while registering a case against Jamaat-e-Islami, said that the money collected from the country and abroad in the form of Zakat, Mauda, and Bait-ul-Mal was used to incite terrorism and violence in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the NIA, the funds being raised by Jamaat-e-Islami were regularly sent through a well-organized network to ban terrorist organizations like Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and other terrorist organizations.

Not only this, but this organization has also been motivating the youth of Kashmir to follow the path of terrorism.

In February 2019, the Center banned Jamaat-e-Islami for five years under anti-terrorism laws.

During that time also it was found that this organization was in close contact with terrorist organizations.

In a major crackdown in Jammu and Kashmir following the ban, hundreds of Jamaat-e-Islami activists were arrested.

Wherever this investigation is going on in Doda and Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have cordoned off the area so that there is no obstruction of any kind.

Security forces have been deployed to maintain law and order situations in the area till the operation is completed.

At present, the raids are on. An NIA official said that the details will be given after the completion of the investigation process.
