Nineteen students were killed in a shooting in Uvalde, now three months later the police chief has been sacked: Mass Shooting in Texas.

The Board of Trustees of the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District fired Police Chief Pete Arredondo. The action comes three months after the deadliest shooting in class in American history.

Pete is accused of making several serious mistakes during the mass shooting at Raab Elementary School that left 19 students and two teachers dead.

Arredondo is the first officer to be fired.

Arredondo is the first officer fired over law enforcement’s response to the May 24 tragedy.

The only other officer is Uvalde Police Department Lt. Mariano Pargas (Uvalde Police Department Lt. Mariano Pargas), the city’s acting police chief on the day of the massacre, sent on leave for his actions during the shooting.

Nineteen students were killed in shooting: Criticism for not ordering action.

Arredondo was criticized for not ordering the authorities to act quickly.

Col. Steve McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Security, has said that Arredondo was in charge of the law enforcement response to the attack.

Uvalde school officials are under great pressure from victims’ families and community members, many of whom have called for Arredondo’s termination.

Superintendent Hal Harrell was earlier supposed to burn the Arredondo in July, but at the request of the police chief’s lawyer, he postponed his decision.

The Texas Department of Public Safety, which had more than 90 state troops at the scene, has also launched an internal investigation into the state police’s response.

Raab Elementary Complex will no longer be used.

School officials have said that the premises of Raab Elementary will no longer be used.

Instead, campuses elsewhere in Uvalde will serve as temporary classrooms for elementary school students. No students are willing to return to school after the shooting.

Virtual Academy will be opened for students.

School officials say that a virtual academy will be offered for the students. The district hasn’t said how many students will attend virtually.

But a new state law passed in Texas last year limits the number of eligible students seeking distance learning after the pandemic to “10% of all enrolled students within a given school system.”

New measures to improve school security in Uvalde include ‘fencing 8-foot, non-scalable perimeter fencing’ on elementary, middle, and high school campuses.

Officials say they have also added additional security cameras, improved locks, advanced training for district staff, and improved communication.

However, according to the district’s own progress report, no fencing was erected on six of the eight campuses till Tuesday, and cameras were installed only in the high school.

Some progress has been made in locking three of the eight campuses.
