No Amarnath Yatra, the first time in quite a while. Without precedent for a long time, the yearly Amarnath Yatra in Jammu & Kashmir has been dropped in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. After a meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, led by Lt Governor GC Murmu and went to by UT organization officials, the declaration to drop the yatra was made tonight, a fortnight in front of its planned decision on August 3.
The board thought upon the predominant COVID circumstance in J&K and the dangers engaged with its lead even at such a late stage. Taking into account that more than 260 people had died and 14,000 had been contaminated, it was felt that holding the yatra would be a high-chance undertaking.
Accordingly, the devotees can watch “live aarti” from the cavern holy place, committed to Lord Shiva, on the TV. The “Chhari Mubarak” might be carried to the hallowed place on August 3 (Raksha Bandhan day), denoting the finish of the yatra. An official discharge stated, “It isn’t prudent to lead the current year’s Shri Amarnathji Yatra”.
The board and authorities held “frayed conversation on the current pandemic circumstance and its reasonable effect on the yatra”. The gathering talked about different court decisions on the yatra. It was guaranteed the courses of action had been on target since February, however, the checks had constrained the conclusion of strict spots. The preclusions proceed till July 31.
