Novak Djokovic Enters The Quarterfinals Of Wimbledon

Novak Djokovic enters the quarterfinals of Wimbledon for the 13th time and registers the 25th consecutive win on the grass-court: Wimbledon 2022.

Top seed Novak Djokovic advanced to the men’s singles quarter-finals on Sunday after beating unseeded Tim van Rithoven of the Netherlands in a four-set contest.

Former Serbian world number one Djokovic showed his way out after beating Rithovan 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Djokovic has made it to the quarter-finals of Wimbledon for the 13th time.

This is Djokovic’s 25th consecutive win on the grass court at Wimbledon.

World number 104 Rithovan, however, gave a tough fight to Djokovic and was also successful in winning the second set during this period.

Novak Djokovic enters the quarterfinals: 35-year-old Djokovic made only 19 simple mistakes in the match and made 29 winners.

Djokovic, who is challenging for his fourth consecutive Wimbledon and 21st Grand Slam titles in a row, will take on 10th seed Yannick Sinner of Italy on Tuesday in a last-eight match.

Sinner defeated fifth seed Carlos Alcarez 6-1, 6-4, 6-7 (8), 6-3 to reach his first-ever Wimbledon quarter-finals.

In another quarter-final, ninth seed Cam Norie of Britain will take on unseeded David Goffin of Belgium.

Nori defeated American 30th seed Tommy Paul 6-4, 7-5, 6-4, while Goffin defeated 23rd seed Francis Tiafoe 7-6(3), 5-7, in a fierce contest that lasted over four-and-a-half hours. Defeated 5-7, 6-4, 7-5.

Tunisia’s third seed Ons Jebur defeated Elise Mertens in straight sets to reach the women’s singles quarter-finals.

Among the remaining players in the women’s section, top seed Jebur defeated Ellis 7-6 (9), 6-4 to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the second time in a row.

Jebur saved five set points in the tiebreaker. This is Jebur’s ninth consecutive win on the grassy court in the current season and he has not lost a single match. He also won the Berlin Open title last month.

A little more than a year ago, Jebur became the first female singles player in the Arab world to win a title on the Elite Women’s Tour by winning the grass-court tournament in Birmingham.

The Tunisia player will next take on Czech Republic’s Marie Bojkova, who defeated France’s Caroline Garcia 7-5, 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time.

Romania’s 16th seed Simona Halep will face fourth seed Paula Bedosa on Monday, the only remaining Grand Slam champion in the women’s draw.
