NR Santosh, Political secretary of Yeddyurappa attempted suicide, Congress leader DK Shivakumar demands an inquiry.

NR Santosh, political secretary of Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, has allegedly attempted suicide. Congress has demanded an inquiry into the matter.

Party chief DK Shivakumar has made a sensational claim in the state.

He said that according to his information, a secret video was shared by CM’s political secretary NR Santosh to an MLC and a minister.

He was blackmailing both the MLC and the minister, the chief minister, and the leaders in the government. This has been happening for the last several months. Later, it reached the high command leaders of the BJP.

DK Shivakumar said that it was no small thing to attempt suicide by the CM’s political secretary. This needs to be investigated properly.

The state government should not investigate. Santosh was admitted to the hospital on Friday after allegedly attempting suicide.

He has been admitted to the Ramaiya Memorial Hospital in Bengaluru. He reportedly tried to kill himself by eating sleeping pills.

Yeddyurappa visited the hospital

Yeddyurappa visited the hospital and inquired about Santosh’s health. His family members gave information about this. The Chief Minister said that he will hold talks with him and his family members once Santosh recovers.

After finding the secretary of CM Yeddyurappa unconscious at the Dollars Colony residence, his family brought him to the hospital. CM also reached the hospital.

He said that he always saw Santosh happy. Police are also trying to find out the cause of the incident. There were reports that he may resign from his post due to his alleged differences with certain people of the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday spoke to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami.

After discussing the situation in the wake of the cyclone prevention, announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each for the injured.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tweeted, ‘Central teams are being sent to Tamil Nadu to assist in rescue and relief operations.’
