AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria has warned about the increasing cases of the new variant Omicron of Coronavirus.
Dr. Guleria has advised people not to panic on Wednesday. However, he said that there is a need to be careful with this.
In a video message released by AIIMS, Guleria also wished Happy New Year. He said, ‘I wish everyone a very Happy New Year 2022.
On this occasion, I wish everyone to be happy, healthy, and prosperous. As we move forward, it is important for us to understand that the pandemic is not over, yet we are in a better position.
Guleria further said that there are a large number of people in our country who have been vaccinated, yet we are seeing increasing cases.
That is why it is important that we follow the rules, which include wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and avoiding crowds so that we do not have super spreaders anywhere.

Guleria said that the latest data shows that Omicron is a mild infection. Omicron does not cause oxygen degradation, so the oxygen requirement may not be as high.
