Our priority is to provide facilities to the guards of the country’s border- Rajnath Singh said on the foundation day of BRO.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh participated in the program organized on the occasion of the 63rd Foundation Day of Border Roads Organization (BRO).

During this, he also gave his address in the program. Rajnath Singh said that providing maximum facilities to those guarding the borders of India is the top priority of the government.

He said ensuring the development of border areas is a major part of the government’s comprehensive defense strategy.

Rajnath further said, ‘Today BRO is also doing the work of connecting them to friendly countries by giving their services.

For the past 6 decades, BRO has been a strong pillar of infrastructure development in the border areas. From 2 projects in 1960, it has now reached 18 projects.

Our top priority is to provide maximum facilities to those people who are working day and night for our security, who are the guards of this country’s border.

Aware of China’s presence in the northern region.

Rajnath said that we are aware of the Chinese presence in the northern region. They try to reach the hilly areas fast because of efficient construction techniques.

BROs should work in parallel and use technology to enhance their capabilities. The government is cooperating with BRO in this direction.

BRO is also praised for improving infrastructure.

The Defense Minister also appreciated the BRO for improving the infrastructure in the border areas of the country.

Citing the example of the development of the North-East region, he said that it has now become a “new gateway” for the overall development of the country.

Rajnath said that roads have been of great importance in the journey of human civilization.

Be it education or health, trade or food supply, strategic needs of armies, industry, or other functions of socio-economic progress, the role of roads and bridges is important.

BRO has so far constructed 60,000 km of roads, 850 bridges, 19 airstrips, and 4 tunnels. BRO showed its engineering prowess to the whole world in the construction of the Atal Tunnel.
