Pahalgam Freezes at -10°C: Pahalgam records -10.4°C, making it the coldest place in Kashmir. Severe cold continues across the valley as snowfall is predicted in Jammu on Saturday.
Pahalgam freezes due to severe cold, mercury below minus 10 degrees; snowfall to occur in Jammu on Saturday. After recent snowfall, the weather in Kashmir remains dry. The severe cold has increased due to the sharp drop in temperature. On Thursday, the temperature at many places in the valley not only remained below the freezing point but also fell further. Tourist place Pahalgam has frozen due to the cold.

The minimum temperature has reached -10.4 degrees. Pahalgam was the coldest area of Kashmir. Also, Srinagar’s base temperature expanded to – 4.4 degrees. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather in the valley will remain dry during the next 24 hours.
After two days of sunshine, the maximum temperature in Jammu and Kashmir has risen two to six degrees above normal and the minimum temperature has come below normal. Srinagar also remained sunny during the day.
The temperature, which was already below the freezing point, has fallen further. This has increased the cold even more. Additionally, Pahalgam’s minimum temperature was higher than Gulmarg’s. The minimum temperature in Gulmarg was -9.6, Srinagar -4.4, Qazigund -6.2, Kupwara -4.5, and Kokernag recorded a minimum temperature of -5.6 degrees.
The maximum temperature of Banihal was 11.6, minimum temperature of 3.8 degrees, Batote recorded a maximum temperature of 15.2, a minimum temperature of 3.3 degrees, the maximum temperature of Katra, the base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi, was 19.8, and minimum temperature of 6.4 degrees.
Bhaderwah experienced a minimum temperature of -0.2 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 16.4. The maximum temperature of Leh was -0.8 and the minimum was -13.3 degrees. Due to the cold wave in Jammu, severe cold continues. In Jammu, the lowest temperature was 5.5 degrees and the highest was 18.8 degrees. On Thursday, the fog was less as compared to the previous two days. The fog is still causing trouble in the plains and canal areas.
Clouds will start gathering in the late evening of 10th January. There is a possibility of rain in the plains of Jammu on 11th January and light snowfall in the high hill areas. The weather will remain dry on Lohri and Makar Sankranti. It will remain cloudy on 15-16th January. In certain high-hill regions, snowfall is a possibility.
