Pakistan will continue to raise the Kashmir issue on the world stage: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. Despite many times failing to raise the Kashmir issue on global forums, Pakistan does not seem to be out of its antics. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Wednesday that his country will continue to raise the Kashmir issue in all international forums.
Addressing the assembly of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, Imran claimed that many world leaders do not even know what is going on in Kashmir. Imran was addressing the Legislative Assembly of Kashmir on the occasion of completion of one year of Indian Government’s decision to abolish Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.
Global forces did not give the sentiment
Imran said that the Kashmir issue came to prominence due to the efforts of his government. However, the Pakistani Prime Minister had earlier admitted that he had not received an enthusiastic response to the Kashmir issue on the world stage. The reason for this is that western countries have commercial interests in India, which is a big market. Khan said that he has personally informed world leaders including US President Donald Trump, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel about Kashmir.
Unsuccessful attempt to garner support
It is noteworthy that Pakistan tried unsuccessfully to garner international support against India when Article 370 was abolished from Jammu and Kashmir and it was divided into two union territories. India has clearly told the international community that the repeal of Article 370 is its internal subject. India has also advised Pakistan to accept reality and stop all anti-India propaganda.
Criticism of land worship in Ayodhya
Pakistan on Wednesday criticized the Bhoomi Pujan of Ram temple in Ayodhya. The ‘flawed decision’ of the Indian Supreme Court paved the way for the temple construction, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said in a statement. This not only reflects the primacy of faith over justice but also the increasing totalitarianism in today’s India, where attacks on minorities, particularly Muslims and their places of worship, are increasing. India had earlier rejected inappropriate and serious comments made by Pakistan on the issue.
