Pakistani parliament postpones military security briefing, opposition parties threaten slow.

The Pakistani parliament has deferred security briefing related to Gilgit Baltistan POK. Opposition parties threatened to boycott it.

National Assembly Speaker Asad Kaiser had announced that senior army officers would brief various parliamentary parties on Wednesday.

However, he did not reveal the briefing agenda. Political sources said it could be about the provisional status of Gilgit Baltistan.

However, the opposition parties refused to participate in the briefing. The parties said that the government could use it to influence the election result of Gilgit Baltistan.

Elections will be held on 15 November.

The National Assembly Secretariat said in a tweet that the session of parliamentary leaders in the National Assembly and Senate, scheduled to be held on November 11, has been postponed.

Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and Inter-Service Intelligence Chief Lt Gen Faiz Hameed were to address the MPs. The two briefed the politicians in September.

The statement said that on the intervening night of October 18 and 19, there was pressure on the people for action in the case of desecration of Mazar-e-Qaid. Pakistani Ranger and ISI officials took action against Meher and Awan.
