Parallel To CBI, CID Will Now Investigate Coal Smuggling Case

Parallel to CBI, CID will now investigate coal smuggling case, the constitutional crisis may stand.

The investigation of the illegal coal mining and smuggling case will now be done by the Central Investigation Agency (CBI) along with the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Bengal.

The state CID has constituted a special team to investigate allegations of corruption that visited coal mines in Andal on Friday. Law experts here say that the investigation of two agencies in the same case can lead to a constitutional crisis.

In response to the CBI investigation, it is believed that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has directed a CID investigation. Because, in this case, the CBI is looking for Trinamool leader Vinay Mishra.

Also, repeatedly the name of Mamta’s MP nephew Abhishek Banerjee is being thrown out.

Here, a senior advocate of Kolkata, Herak Sinha, says that the same crime cannot be heard simultaneously in two places and punishment cannot be done in two places. This is a rare case in itself.

If the accused goes to the High Court, then an inquiry will eventually have to be canceled and that is obviously a CID investigation.

Because the investigation of two independent agencies in the same case can cause a constitutional crisis. Here BJP says that parallel CID investigation of CBI is inspired by politics.

Senior BJP leader Shamik Bhattacharya said and why the government did not conduct a CID investigation in the matter for so long.

Actually, its purpose is to save the accused. On Friday, a 20-member CID team visited coal mines in Andal. With this, he went to the Eastern Coal Field (ECL) headquarters and spoke to senior officials.

CBI is highly active in this matter before the assembly elections. CBI is looking for coal mafia Anoop Majhi aka Lala. Lala has the biggest role behind coal smuggling in the mining areas of Asansol, Durgapur, and Purulia.
