People’s Alliance (PAGD) Can Disappear At Any Time

People’s alliance can disappear at any time, constituents are in the mood to start their own politics: Jammu Kashmir. 

With the exit of Sajjad Ghani Lone, the People’s Alliance for Group Declaration (PAGD) may cease to exist at any time, as its undisclosed purpose has been fulfilled.

Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti, who played a key role in this alliance, also finds herself uncomfortable in it.

At the same time, the National Conference was also a part of it in compulsion. After assessing themselves on the pretext of the election of the District Development Council in the new Jammu and Kashmir, the PAGD constituents are now in a mood to resume their politics to reach power.

For this, now the way to get out of PAGD, Sajjad Ghani, chairman of People’s Conference, has opened it.

In such a situation, the slogan of reinstatement of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act will now remain a mere slogan for these parties.

The differences in PAGD, formed on 20 October 2020, were there from day one. The declared agenda of the parties involved is to restore the constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir before 5 August 2019.

According to a leader involved in the PAGD, from the very first day, all the constituents were apprehensive about each other.

Not only the party like BJP in Jammu, and Kashmir but the leaders of PAGD constituents were also raising questions about its formation and purpose.

A senior National Conference leader said on condition of anonymity that we did not want to be a part of PAGD.

Dr. Farooq and Omar Abdullah undoubtedly wanted to launch an agitation for the restoration of Article 370 in collaboration with other parties, but they were refraining from forming alliances.

It was on the specific request of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti that he agreed to be a part of PAGD.

PDP will not want to be the number-two party after NC: People’s Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti has several times denied differences in PAGD, saying it was formed for a larger cause, but she too was not happy with NC.

Because the PDP would never want to be a part of the PAGD and become the number two party after NC.

Who will go with Modi-Shah: According to Kashmir affairs expert Ahmed Ali Fayaz, the election of District Development Councils for PAGD was nothing more than an experiment.

PAGD constituents have assessed their position in the DDC elections in the context of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir late in the morning. Common Kashmiri already had many doubts about PAGD.

The common Kashmiri knows very well that Article 370 can no longer be reinstated, he believes in a democracy so went to vote.

It is not important who separates first. It matters who goes with Modi-Shah. The rest may differ from PAGD without sounding.

These are the constituents of PAGD: National Conference, People’s Democratic Party, Jammu Kashmir People’s Movement, Awami National Conference, CPI-M, and People’s Conference are now separated.
