Pirates attacked Turkish ships, kidnapped 15 sailors; Killing one. Pirates have attacked a Turkish cargo vessel off the coast of West Africa, killing a sailor, and abducting 15 others.

The Turkish Marine Directorate reported that crew members of the vessel named MV Mozart had initially locked themselves in a safe place, but the robbers arrived there after about six hours. During this period, one crew member has also died in the conflict.

Turkish media has identified the deceased crew member as Farman Ismayilov, a resident of Azerbaijan and an engineer by profession, who was the only non-Turkish member on the ship.

On Saturday, the robbers left the vessel in the Gulf of Guinea, along with three sailors, after kidnapping most of the crew aboard the ship, according to the Turkish government dialogue agency Anadolu.

According to the agency, the vessel is currently heading towards Gentile, the port of Gabon.

The President’s Office of Turkey reported that President Rajab Tayyab Erdogan has spoken twice to the senior officer on the ship. The office also stated that the President has also issued an order for the safe return of the hijacked crew members.

It is noteworthy that a ship named Mozart flagged off Liberia was going from Lagos, Nigeria to Cape Town in South Africa and was hijacked 185 km northwest of the island country Sao Tome and Principe on Saturday morning.

According to reports, the pirates have disabled most of the vessel’s system leaving only the navigation system so that crew members can reach the port.

The number of members of the Hashd Shabi Force killed in the attack of the well-known terrorist organization Islamic State (IS) in Iraq has increased to eleven. The attack took place in Salahuddin province.

The attack was carried out by the Islamic State suicide squad on Saturday to capture a checkpost.

Hashd Shabi Force opposed him. 12 people have also been injured in this attack. There is also a commander of Hasht Shabi among those who died. Earlier, there were two suicide bombings in Iraq.
