Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G internet services in India by pressing the remote button at the India Mobile Congress (IMC 2022).
Reliance Jio is about to start 5G from a village in Ahmedabad while Airtel is about to start 5G from Varanasi.
At the same time, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that by December 2023, Jio will start 5G service in every city in the country.
PM Modi said that earlier the cost of 1GB of data was around Rs 300, which has now come down to Rs 10 per GB. On average, a person in India consumes 14GB per month.
It used to cost around Rs 4200 per month in 2014, but now it costs Rs 125-150. This has happened because of the efforts of our government.
In the first phase, 5G connectivity will be started in 13 cities Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune.
After this 5G will be delivered to every part of the country. From today, Airtel’s 5G network will start in eight major cities of the country like Delhi, and Bangalore.
Reliance Jio has announced to launch of 5G in all metro cities of the country by Diwali this year.
At the same time, Bharti Airtel can start 5G service in Varanasi, Delhi, and Bangalore from October. Whereas Vodafone Idea can initially launch 5G only in select locations.

Let us tell you that in the biggest auction of 5G spectrum in India, the Government of India got record bids of Rs 1.5 lakh crore.
In this, Mukesh Ambani’s Jio got about half of the airwaves being auctioned by bidding for Rs 88,078 crore. In this way, Reliance Jio became the company with the largest 5G network in the country.
