Advocate Prashant Bhushan (Prashant Bhushan) has been convicted in the case of allegedly making two derogatory tweets towards the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will now decide the sentence in this case on 20 August. Bhushan had said in his affidavit that criticizing the functioning of any one Chief Justice or subsequent Chief Justice does not mean tarnishing the image of the Supreme Court. He said that his tweet about the CJI sitting on a motorcycle involving his anguish for not having normal functioning in the Supreme Court for more than three months

Earlier, advocate Prashant Bhushan defended his tweet, which allegedly contempt of court. He said that those tweets were about his personal level of conduct against the judges and they do not obstruct the administration of justice. The court had on July 22 issued a show-cause notice to Prashant Bhushan in this case.

While completing the hearing, the bench dismissed the application filed separately to withdraw the July 22 order. Under this order, notice was issued on two tweets allegedly defaming the judiciary, starting contempt proceedings.

Questions have been raised on issues related to the judiciary

Senior Advocate Bhushan has also questioned the issues related to the judiciary in the past. In recent days, the lockdown imposed during Corona also criticized the attitude of the top court regarding the migrants migrating from other states. Similarly, statements were also made about the behavior of Bhima Koregaon accused Varvara Rao and Sudha Bhardwaj, who are fighting for the civil rights activists who are in jail.
