PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen lost in the quarterfinals: Indonesia Masters 2022.
Friday was not a good day for Indian badminton. India’s star players had to bow out of the tournament after losing in the men’s and women’s singles at the Indonesia Open.
Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu and budding badminton player Lakshya Sen both lost their quarterfinal matches.
With the defeat of these two players, the Indian challenge ended in this tournament.
Indonesia Masters 2022: PV Sindhu and Lakshya crashed out of the tournament after losing in the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters on Friday.
Sen was defeated by third seed Chou of Chinese Taipei, while Sindhu lost to Ratchanok Intanon. Young Lakshya, who has shown a great game so far, showed struggle but could not achieve the victory.
In the first game, the Indians made a strong comeback from a 21-16 loss to level with a 12-21 win. In the third game, Chou registered a 21-14 win and was kicked out of the match.
Sindhu, who struggled in both her matches of this tournament, did not seem to be in any form in the quarterfinals.
Intanon won the first game 12-21 while Sindhu’s defeat in the second game was even worse.
In this game, the Indian player could only score 10 points. Her journey in the tournament came to an end with a 12-21, 10-21 loss to Sindhu.

Lakshya defeated world number 13 Rasmus Gemke of Denmark 21-18, 21-15 in 54 minutes in the pre-quarterfinals.
Sindhu, on the other hand, defeated Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska Tunjung 23-21, 20-22, 21-11 in an hour-long match.
Lakshya had earlier registered a straight game 21-10, 21-18 win against Denmark’s Hannes Kristian Solberg Wittingus. Sindhu won 18-21, 21-15, 21-11 against Denmark’s Line Kristofferson.
