Raids Continue At Six Places By NIA In Shopian

Raids continue at six places by NIA in Shopian district in terror funding case: Jammu Kashmir.

Raids are going on in various districts of the Kashmir division in the terror funding case of the National Investigation Agency NIA.

At present, raids are going on at about six places of NIA in Wachi and Jainpora areas of the Shopian district.

Apart from the police, the cooperation of other security agencies is also being taken in this. The NIA team has conducted a search in Shopian’s Wachi,

Houses of senior Jamaat-e-Islami activist Mohammad Shafi Shah, Shahid Ahmed Shah working in a private company, Riyaz Ahmed Mir, an employee of sheep rearing department searched.

Also, the premises of Mohammad Shaban Kumar, head of the local Akaf committee, and one Tarkhan Mohammad Latif Shah have been raided.

Raids continue at six places by NIA: It may be mentioned here that since the beginning of this year in the state, NIA has conducted raids more than 50 times in cases related to terror funding in J&K.

So far around 20 people have also been arrested in this connection. On August 8, 2021, the NIA had raided 45 locations in the state in connection with the terror funding case.

The NIA team conducted raids in Srinagar, Ganderbal, Achabal, Shopian, Bandipora, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, and other districts.

Terror funding is being said to be the reason for NIA raids at various places in the Shopian district today.

A prominent human rights activist Khurram Parvez was recently arrested by the NIA in an alleged terror funding case. It is believed that NIA raids are going on only after the interrogation of Parvez.

The NIA team searched the house of the so-called human rights advocate Pervez Imraj.

Parvez is the maternal uncle of Khurram Parvez, who was arrested three days ago. It was Parvez Imroj who laid the foundation of the Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons in Kashmir.

He is the chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society.

The Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons has also been torn apart after the relatives of the so-called missing in the custody of security forces, misusing donations and accusing them of politics in their name.
