Ravi Shastri : Rohit, Ishant Should Reach Australia In 3 days

Ravi Shastri said if Rohit and Ishant have to play Test, they should reach Australia in three-four days.

Team India head coach Ravi Shastri expressed apprehension over the participation of senior players Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma.

He said that for this they would have to reach Australia in the next few days, to play in the next Test series against Australia.

Both Rohit (hamstring) and Ishant (side strain) are on rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) due to a muscle strain.

However, the BCCI has not yet given the date of his departure to Australia.

Given the 14-day quarantine required in Australia, they would not be able to participate in the warm-up match against Australia-A from December 6 to 8 if they did not leave India on Monday.

Shastri said that it was already decided that Rohit would not be part of the limited-overs series due to injury. They wanted to see how much rest they needed because you cannot even rest for long.

He said that if you want to play in the Test series, then you have to be on the flight in the next three or four days. If this is not done then it will be difficult.

Rohit is training strength and conditioning

Ravi Shastri said that the NCA medical team is currently assessing how long Rohit will break from the game. He said that if he had to rest for a long time then things could get difficult.

Because you also have to keep quarantine in mind. Rohit had earlier said that he is doing strength and conditioning training at NCA.

Shastri said that Ishant’s case is similar to Rohit’s. You really don’t know when the two of them will be ready to leave for Australia.

As I said, if someone wants to play in the Test series, they have to fly in the next four or five days. Otherwise, it would be very difficult.

Mayank and Shubman will compete for the opener

The Indian team management is considering making a better opening pair for the ODI series against Australia.

In such a situation, there will be competition between Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill as Shikhar Dhawan’s partner.

The series is to begin on November 27. The Indian team played their last ODI series in New Zealand, where they lost 0–3.

Aggarwal played there in all three formats but was not very successful.

As far as the selection of Shubman is concerned, the decision will have to be taken by the coach Shastri and Kohli considering the Sydney pitch. Shastri had a long chat with Gill on Sunday.
