Red alert in Kerala and Orange alert in Tamil Nadu – Karnataka; IMD said – there may be heavy rain.

At the same time, an orange alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Palakkad, and Malappuram districts in view of the possibility of heavy rains.

The agency says that due to cyclonic activities in the southwest of the Bay of Bengal adjoining Tamil Nadu, there maybe rain.

In view of this, a red alert is going on in Kerala as well an orange alert has been issued in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka as well.

IMD has tweeted this morning and said, ‘Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Barwala, Jind, Hisar, Hansi, Saharanpur, Rampur, Sambhal, Chandausi will also receive heavy rain today.’

IMD has said in its bulletin that it will rain on Tuesday, but it will rain in one or two areas on Wednesday as well.

IMD said that Southwest Monsoon will remain active over Kerala and many parts of Kerala and Lakshadweep may receive rain.

A red alert means that more than 20 cm of rain is likely to fall in 24 hours, an Orange alert means 6 cm to 20 cm of heavy rain and a Yellow alert means 6-11 cm of rain.
