Red Alert Issued For Heavy Rains In Nearby Districts Of Chennai

Red alert issued for heavy rains in nearby districts including Chennai, Kancheepuram.

Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, is in bad condition due to heavy rains. The rain is not taking its name to stop.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in the surrounding districts including Chennai due to the possibility of heavy rains in the coming days.

The Meteorological Department has said that after low pressure on November 17 and November 18, torrential rains may occur in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpattu districts.

The officials of the Greater Chennai Corporation have tightened their gears after warning of a red alert.

Incessant rains have thrown life out of gear in Chennai and other adjoining districts.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy rains are gradually reaching the low-pressure coasts.

Due to which there may be torrential rains in Chennai and adjoining districts till the night of November 18.

Meteorologists said that rain may occur at isolated places in Chennai and its adjoining districts. Due to this, 20 mm of rain has been expected on Wednesday and Thursday.

Heavy rain is likely for the next two days.

The Meteorological Department has also informed that there is a possibility of a cyclonic storm in the next two days in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpattu districts.

The weather will remain rough with strong winds. The wind speed may reach 40 kmph to 50 kmph and gusting to 60 kmph for two days.

The cyclonic storm with low pressure is over the Bay of Bengal and by November 18, it is likely to reach South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu coast.

The condition was worsened by heavy rain.

The situation is worsening due to heavy rains in Chennai and adjoining districts.

Due to waterlogging and floods, around 848 people are living in relief camps while the Greater Chennai Corporation is taking steps to shift people back to their homes.

On the other hand, Rangarajapuram Metro was also flooded with water on 16 roads at nine places in Chennai.
