Relief amount of 40 lakhs will be given to the relatives of Rakesh Pandita: Jammu Kashmir.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday visited the house of late Rakesh Pandita, BJP leader and chairman of Tral Municipal Committee, in Roopnagar and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.

He announced a relief amount of 40 lakhs to the victim’s family. It is noteworthy that on June 2, Rakesh was killed by terrorists at his friend’s house.

The Lieutenant Governor said that the matter is being investigated at a high level.

The Lieutenant Governor said that the administration stands with the family of the deceased in this hour of grief.

He assured the victim’s family that the perpetrators of Pandita’s murder would not be spared and strict action would be taken.

The Lieutenant Governor said that a high level inquiry is being conducted into the matter.

The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by his Principal Secretary Niteshwar Kumar, Jammu Divisional Commissioner Raghav Langar, Jammu Deputy Commissioner Anshul Garg.

Taking up gun is not the solution: Mehbooba.

SRINAGAR: PDP President Mehbooba Mufti said that raising a gun cannot solve any issue, issues can be resolved only through dialogue.

Mehbooba said in Baramulla district, that such attacks defame the people of Kashmir. As a result, more security forces are deployed in the valley in the name of terrorism.

Jammu Kashmir: Before the assembly elections, Sikh organizations became active, raised the issue of political reservation.

Ahead of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Sikh organizations have started raising the demand for political reservation for the Sikh community.

Amid the opposition’s demand for restoration of the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir and holding of assembly elections.

Sikh organizations said that two seats in the assembly should be reserved for the Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir in terms of population.

At present, the process of delimitation has started in Jammu and Kashmir and after the delimitation, the central government will conduct assembly elections.

Political activities, which were affected for about one and a half years due to the situation arising out of Corona, are starting again.

Seeing the situation becoming normal, Sikh organizations have started insisting on the central government that since the Sikh community is scattered in Jammu and Kashmir, they are unable to choose their representative, so political reservation should be given.

National Sikh Front Chairman Virendra Jeet Singh has said that the problems of the Sikh community are not properly exposed in the assembly.
