Relief And Rehabilitation Department’s Bank Account Is Attached

Relief and Rehabilitation Department’s bank account is attached, 25 thousand Kashmiri Hindu families did not get relief, this is the dispute.

A Jammu and Kashmir court attached a bank account of the Relief and Rehabilitation (Displaced) Department in the payment dispute.

The effect of this was that the distribution of relief money to about 25,000 displaced Kashmiri Hindus has also stopped.

Along with this, the salary of departmental officers has also stopped. Distressed migrants tried to disrupt traffic on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway near Nagrota on Saturday.

On the other hand, according to the department, there is a preparation to file a review petition in this matter.

It is noteworthy that every month maximum cash assistance of Rs 13,000 is provided by the government to Kashmiri Hindu families living the lives of displaced people from Kashmir due to terrorism.

This amount is transferred directly to the account of the displaced by the Relief and Rehabilitation Department. After the court order, the relief amount has not been received so far this month.

Sunil Kumar, a resident of Kashmiri Migrant Colony, Jagti, said that due to the apathy of the Relief and Rehabilitation Department.

A contractor got the bank account of the government department frozen and a situation of starvation has arisen in front of these families.

We should be given alternative relief till the matter is resolved.

Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner displaced AK Pandita told that the court has put a stay on the account head of the department.

Due to this, the payment could not be made. It is expected that the court will provide relief in this matter soon and the relief amount will be paid to about 25 thousand families.

This is the dispute.

According to departmental officials, there is a dispute with Bhatia Construction, a company that makes flats for displaced Kashmiri Pandits in Purkhu and Nagrota.

The Vigilance Department had also investigated the matter and the payment was made accordingly. Now the company has claimed in the court that its department is owed Rs 92 lakh.

It is alleged that in this case, the public prosecutor did not appear in the court within the stipulated time and on the request of the company, the court had frozen an account of the department.

Therefore, Kashmiri Hindus could not be paid from this account. We have requested the court to freeze the amount of only Rs 92 lakh and allow it to run the balance account.
