Republic Day 2023: For the first time in the Republic Day parade, the women’s army team and Agniveer participated, and read 10 special things.

India is celebrating its 74th Republic Day today. Like every time, this time also the parade and tableaux of different states were taken out.

But this was the first time that all this happened on the Kartavya path instead of the Rajpath. Many things happened for the first time in the Republic Day celebrations this time.

Let’s know in 10 points what was special this time.

President Draupadi Murmu led the nation for the first time on Republic Day. She arrived at the venue for the first time with the country’s chief guest and Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi.

The parade was opened for the first time by an Egyptian military contingent. These armed forces were led by Colonel Mahmoud Mohamed Abdel.

For the first time, an all-women contingent of the Central Reserve Police Force was seen in the Republic Day parade.

This time women were seen involved in many other military units including the Navy. The naval contingent led by a lady officer saw 3 soldiers and 6 Agniveers.

Republic Day 2023: The country witnessed the world’s only active cavalry regiment ‘the 61st Cavalry’ on the 74th Republic Day.

The 61 Cavalry Regiment comprises all the ‘State Horse Units’ and its motto is ‘Ashva Shakti Yashobal’.

The parade also saw the ‘Arjun’ tank of the 75 Armored Regiment. It was led by Captain Amanjit Singh.

The MBT Arjun is a third-generation main battle tank indigenously developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) of India.

23 tableaux from 17 states, union territories, and 6 different government ministries were displayed on Republic Day.

India’s cultural heritage, economic progress, and national security were shown through these tableaux.

In the tableau of UP, this time Diwali celebrated in Ayodhya was shown.

On the other hand, an exhibition based on Bhagavad Gita was shown in Haryana’s tableau. The tableau depicted Lord Krishna as the charioteer of Arjuna.

The parade featured a spectacular flypast and air display by the Indian Air Force (IAF), comprising 50 aircraft and helicopters from the three services.

It included 45 aircraft from the Air Force, one from the Navy, and four helicopters from the Army, which displayed their acrobatics and professional skills.

This time the most special thing was that in the Republic Day program, the workers, milk, vegetable, and street vendors related to the construction of Central Vista and Kartavya path, were made to sit in the front line.

The Republic Day celebrations featured cultural performances by 479 artists selected through the nationwide ‘Vande Bharatam’ dance competition.
