Return is possible only if the government talks and guarantees security and respect: Displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
Amidst the government’s efforts to return the displaced Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley.
The displaced Kashmiri Pandits living in the Jagti Colony of Nagrota have said that they will not accept any proposal for their return unless the government talks with them.
These displaced Pandits have rejected the offer of resettlement thereby constructing a flat in Kashmir, saying that they want a safe and dignified return to Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir: For this, it is necessary that the government talks to them first.
Members of the All India Migrant Camps Coordination Committee held an anti-government protest outside the exhibition ground on Wednesday for their demands.
These displaced Kashmiri Pandits raised slogans for providing basic facilities like electricity and water in Jagti, increase in relief amount, removal of encroachments on their lands in Kashmir, and many other demands.
Leading the protest, Desh Ratan Pandita, the head of the committee, said that Delhi never understood the pain of displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
Pandita said that people from Delhi come and go after meeting some politicians and self-styled Kashmiri leaders and big proposals are prepared in the files.
Pandita said that the All India Migrant Camps Coordination Committee is an organization that deals with Kashmiris living in the camps.
This organization belongs to poor Kashmiris who lived in villages. It is these Kashmiris who are facing the pain of expulsion for the last two decades.
He said that Kashmiri Pandits want to return to the valley, but before returning, the government should come on one platform and guarantee the safety and honor of the Pandits, only then this return will be possible.
Let us inform here that the government has made a proposal to build 2744 flats in five districts of Kashmir for the return of displaced Kashmiri Pandits to the valley, for which 278 kanals of land have also been transferred.
