The government of India is preparing to introduce a Production Linked Incentive Scheme for companies engaged in Telecom Equipment Manufacturing in India. According to information received from the top sources , incentives worth Rs 15,000 crore will be given to companies associated with telecom equipment manufacturing. The Department of Telecommunications has prepared a cabinet note for this.

Telecom equipment manufacturing will get a boost – The government will bring a production link incentive scheme for companies. A draft of Rs 15,000 crore scheme has been prepared. These domestic companies will benefit – 5G will get incentives for making equipment like base station, antenna, router. Dependencies from telecomchinese companies like ITI, HFCL, Shyam Telecom, Tejas, VNL, Sterlite Technology, Paramount cables are all set to work.

China has a huge investment in India’s big internet companies. According to the data, the market for telecom equipment is about Rs 12,000 crore, of which China accounts for about 25 percent. Industrial organization Ph.D. Chamber has demanded an immediate ban on the import of Chinese devices connected to Wi-Fi, routers, and 4G.

The government has also been assured of taking positive decisions in this direction. At present, India is fully capable of manufacturing optical fiber cables and other types of telecom cables. This was possible because initially small cable companies were given the opportunity to participate in the government tender.
