RSS Procession Denied: Tamil Nadu Police Denies Permission For Statewide RSS Processions On October 2.

Tamil Nadu Police has denied permission to RSS processions on October 2 at 51 places across the state to maintain law and order in view of the Centre’s move to ban the Popular Front of India (PFI).

Police sources told the news agency that the decision was taken to avoid the possibility of violence during the march.

The RSS had earlier sought permission to take out the procession and the Madras High Court granted it on 22 September.

RSS Procession Denied: There were attacks on the residences of senior RSS officials.

Another major reason, as told by the police, is the recent petrol and kerosene bomb attacks on the residences of senior RSS functionaries.

Sources said that the police did not want any such attack during the procession that would destabilize the situation.

RSS sources told the news agency that the organization would again approach the Madras High Court against the Tamil Nadu Police order.

Ministry of Home Affairs ordered to block the PFI Websites and social media accounts. 

The central government had ordered the blocking of websites and internet media accounts of PFI and its eight affiliates under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).

Central investigative agencies had raided

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had alleged that the PFI has links with the Islamic State terror group.

The organization has also been organizing various weapons training camps.

PFI was banned for involvement in terror cases.

At the same time, the Union Home Ministry said in its notification that the PFI has been banned for having links with global terrorist organizations and for being involved in many terror cases.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has declared PFI and its 8 affiliated organizations as a banned organizations for 5 years.
