Sajjad Lone Said We Are Ready To Contest Elections

Sajjad Lone said we are ready to contest elections. People’s Conference leader Sajjad Lone said – loss of people by not contesting elections, we are ready to contest elections.

People’s Conference chairman Sajjad Gani Lone on Thursday ruled out boycotting the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that this would only harm the people of Jammu and Kashmir. That’s why we will fight the election.

He justified his decision to attend an all-party meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 24.

Said that this meeting will prove to be the beginning of a new round of reconciliation and improving the situation.

Lone said that in the meeting, everyone spoke openly about the suffering of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Negotiations are just the beginning of a phase of reconciliation:

Sajjad Gani Lone said that the dialogue with the Center is an ongoing process. It would be unfair now to make public what happened in the meeting.

It is better to say about it now that we welcome it. This happened almost two years later.

The leadership present at the meeting has spoken of a light-hearted look rather than a past development with which we disagree.

I hope this will prove to be the beginning of a period of reconciliation in Delhi and Srinagar.

Our digestion is not good:

While targeting the leaders of the National Conference and PDP, Sajjad said that we people have bad digestion, which we always keep on speaking.

We should be silent for some time. There is no point in making noise or clarifying what we said in the meeting, what we were told.

There is a limit to these meetings. He should be retained. The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister. He has made some tweets, that is enough.

No time limit given:

On the deadline for grant of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, Sajjad Lone said that I do not remember that any such thing happened in the meeting.

As far as I believe, we should be given statehood now. I have seen a tweet by the Union Home Minister in this context. It is his own opinion, but he has not said anything like that in the meeting.

Negotiation is a long process:

Interacting with reporters for the first time after attending the all-party meeting held last week, Sajjad said it was necessary to participate in it.

It is in favor of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. If the leaders did not go from here, it would have been said that the representatives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir cannot talk, they have no basis.

The meeting should not be linked to one’s victory or defeat. This is a long process. We have to ensure that the Center fulfills the aspirations of the people here.

We have to create an environment in which the Center has no room for denial.

No relation between statehood and elections:

Lone said there is no correlation between statehood and elections. We should work to make the situation better here.

Lone said that if we create such an environment here in which the Center has nothing to give to Jammu and Kashmir or there is a delay in giving it, then only the people of Jammu and Kashmir will suffer.

In that situation, if someone is seen as a loser, then the people of Jammu and Kashmir will be seen.

He said that as far as I am concerned, the central government should return the statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. We are not asking for any donation, it is our right.

We will contest:

He said that we have boycotted the elections here for 15-20 years. What is the benefit of this, only the people have suffered? I will not boycott the election.

I will not say that my party should contest the elections and I myself will not participate. We are all equal in this. No one is big or small.

We will fight the elections on the basis of equality. He said that we should also think about whether our opponent is instigating us to boycott the elections by trapping us in their own trap.

Be transparent.

Regarding delimitation, Sajjad said that this process should be completely fair, transparent. Let it be reasonable.

We should not oppose it, support it and cooperate in making the delimitation completely better.
