Kashmir ADGP Vijay Kumar said that Latif Rather was involved in the killing of many innocent civilians, including the murder of Rahul Bhatt and Aamreen Bhatt. He told that the encounter has started.

A police spokesman said on Wednesday morning that security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Waterhole in the Khansahib area in the district after receiving information about the presence of terrorists.

He said that the search operation turned into an encounter when the terrorists started firing on the security forces.

Kashmir’s Additional Director General of Police (Kashmir Division) Vijay Kumar said that three Lashkar terrorists, including wanted terrorist Latif Rather, have been surrounded in the encounter.

Kumar tweeted, “Three terrorists of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba including terrorist Latif Rather have been surrounded in the encounter.”

“Terrorists are involved in the killing of several civilians including Latif, Rahul Bhat, and Amrin Bhat.”

No casualty has been reported in the encounter so far. Rahul Bhat was shot dead by terrorists inside the tehsil office on May 12 in Chadoora town of Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.

He got the job of ‘clerk’ under the special employment package for refugees. A few days later, Lashkar terrorists shot dead TV artist Amrin Bhat at his house in Chadoora in the Budgam district.

It is worth noting that Operation All Out of security forces is going on in Jammu and Kashmir, in which terrorists are being selectively targeted.

According to IGP Kashmir, during the last 6 months, security forces have killed 118 terrorists. Of these terrorists, 77 terrorists were members of Pakistan-sponsored Lashkar-e-Taiba.

In 2021 also, the security forces had killed 55 terrorists. Two-three months ago, terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir carried out some targeted killings targeting government employees.

After this, the security forces intensified their action against these dreaded terrorists.
