An encounter has started between security forces and terrorists in Devsar of Kulgam in Kashmir. Security forces and police have surrounded the hideout of the terrorists from all sides.

The area has been evacuated. Firing continues from both sides. For the time being, firing from both sides has stopped for some time now.

During this, the security forces have again warned the terrorists to surrender, but the terrorists are ignoring it.

According to the information, late on Saturday night, Kulgam police received information about the hiding of terrorists in an area called Cheian of Devsar.

Kulgam Police jointly with Army and CRPF launched a search operation in the area in the early hours of Sunday. Meanwhile, the terrorists hiding in one place started firing on the security forces.

The security forces immediately took the front and first warned the terrorists to surrender. Ignoring the warning, the terrorists continued firing. Now firing is going on from both sides.

The area has been evacuated. The firing was stopped from both sides twice during the ongoing encounter for the last five hours.

Jammu and Kashmir Police have shared the details of the encounter on the internet media.

The police tweeted that the encounter is going on in an area called Chiyan located in Devsar, Kulgam, soon the terrorists will be eliminated.

Meanwhile, according to Kashmir’s IG Vijay Kumar, two terrorists are trapped in the siege. One of them has been identified as the Haider of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organization.

He is a foreign terrorist living in Pakistan while the other terrorist is a local. Haider has been active in the Kashmir Valley for the last two years and has carried out many terrorist incidents.
