Security tightened in Jammu and Kashmir, fear of terrorist attack due to All-party meeting with PM Modi in Delhi today.
Security has been tightened in the entire state in view of the all-party meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday in the context of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, DGP Dilbag Singh, taking stock of the security arrangements, has directed the police officers to make the security arrangements completely strong, as terrorists can target common people also.
According to sources, the situation in Jammu and Kashmir till Friday is being considered more sensitive.
The meeting to be held in New Delhi on Thursday i.e. today is the first important meeting in the context of Jammu and Kashmir in the last two years.
Terrorists will do everything possible to damage the outcome of this meeting.
In fact, whenever any negotiation process has started regarding Kashmir, terrorists have carried out sensational incidents in different parts of the state to harm it.
In the year 2000, during the then US President Bill Clinton’s visit to India, terrorists massacred 35 Sikhs in Chattisinghpora, Anantnag.
After this, in the year 2000, when talks between Hizbul Mujahideen and the central government were going on, the terrorists killed more than five dozen people in Ramban, Kulgam, and Anantnag.
The attacks took place during the annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath.
Apart from this, the Nadimarg massacre also happened in March 2003, when there was talk of taking a big step by the Center in the context of Kashmir.
In the year 2009, when the central government had gone a long way in the direction of talks with the Hurriyat Conference behind the scenes to solve the Kashmir problem.
Terrorists attacked Hurriyat leader Fazal Haque Qureshi. After this attack, this exercise, which was going on in the name of Quiet Diplomacy, went into cold storage.
Security beefed up across Jammu and Kashmir:
A senior Jammu and Kashmir Police officer, on the condition of anonymity, said that the meeting in Delhi is very important.
Terrorists can go to any extent to damage it and to carry out any major incident in Srinagar during the meeting. Areas vulnerable to terrorist attacks have been identified and security has been beefed up there.
It is not limited to just Kashmir or Srinagar, but this process has been adopted throughout the state.
The patrolling of police and paramilitary forces have been increased. Special nakas have been set up on city roads, national highways, and inter-district roads.
Vigilance increased on the border and minority settlements:
Police sources said that vigil has also been increased along the Line of Actual Control and the International Border.
The security of protected persons has been further strengthened, apart from minority settlements in remote areas, hilly areas, and Vallies.
The areas under the influence of terrorists are being continuously cordoned off and searched by the army personnel.
He told that you cannot call the killing of a police inspector in Nowgam last night and then the killing of a shopkeeper in the Habbakadal area of Srinagar on Wednesday evening mere terrorist incidents.
