Senior Taliban Commander Also Killed In Kabul Attack

Senior Taliban commander also killed in Kabul attack, ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.

At least 25 people were killed and more than 50 were injured in the attack on a military hospital in Kabul.

A senior Taliban commander was also among the dead, according to the AFP news agency.

A massive explosion took place near the entrance of the Sardar Muhammad Dawood Khan Military Hospital, Afghanistan’s largest military hospital.

The United Nations has also condemned the horrific explosions in a hospital in Kabul.

The UN has said that targeting civilians and medical workers undergoing treatment is a violation of human rights and international humanitarian law.

The UN aid mission in Afghanistan said on Twitter that those responsible for the attack should be held accountable.

The IS attacker blew himself up at the entrance of the hospital and several more attackers entered the building, Sputnik was quoted as saying by the Bakhtar news agency.

The Taliban’s special forces, who arrived by helicopter on the spot, surrounded these gunmen on the spot and prevented them from entering the hospital.

All five attackers were killed in the firing that followed.

Explosions have continued in Afghanistan since the Taliban captured Kabul in mid-August. Hundreds of people have died in these.

The place where the blast took place is near the Wazir Akbar Khan area. This is the area where the embassies of different countries were located before the rule of the Taliban.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the attack was carried out by several Islamic State members.

It also included a suicide bomber who blew himself up at the gate of the hospital.

Mujahid said a car loaded with explosives also exploded outside the hospital, wounding dozens and killing several Taliban fighters.
