Shaheed Diwas Of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev And Rajguru

Shaheed Diwas Of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, And Rajguru: Shaheed Diwas is being observed in memory of the sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru.

Both revolutionary and moderate have contributed to the freedom struggle. Martyr’s Day is observed every year on 23 March.

On this day people pay tribute to the freedom fighters, who laid down their lives for the independence of India from British rule.

Today is remembered as a black chapter in the pages of history. On the midnight of 23 March, the British government hanged the three sons of India – Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev.

Martyr’s day is celebrated only to remember these great revolutionaries who sacrificed themselves for the country’s independence.

History of martyr’s day.

After the death of Lala Lajpat Rai in November 1928, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, and others vowed revenge. Rai was a major leader of India’s independence movement.

He conspired to kill James A. Scott. Scott was the Superintendent of Police in the British Raj.

It was Scott who ordered the police to charge lathi on the protesters and launched a personal attack on Rai, causing severe injuries to him.

Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev wanted to send a big message to the British rule by killing Scott.

However, mistaken identity led to the killing of John P. Saunders, an assistant superintendent of police, in place of Scott. Bhagat Singh and BK Dutt (Batukeshwar Dutt) threw bombs in the Central Assembly on 8 April 1929.

After throwing the bomb, both of them gave arrest there. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev were accused of killing Saunders.

He was sentenced to death and the hanging date was fixed on March 24, 1931. However, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev were hanged in Lahore jail before 23 March.

The reason for this is that people were agitated all over the country by the execution of these brave sons. The British government got scared in such an environment.

The government felt that the atmosphere could deteriorate. Therefore, by changing the date of the execution of the hanging, the British hanged Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, the heroic sons of Mother India, on March 23, a day before.

When these three were hanged, Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev were 23 years old, while Rajguru was only 22 years old. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev are great sources of inspiration for the youth of India today.
